Locris" after the name of that city), on the coast of mainland Greece facing
Euboea (area 2).
Birthplace of Philip of Opus, a disciple of Plato at the Academy (see Diogenes Lærtius' Lives, III, 46), who is said to have "edited" the Laws, left unfinished at Plato's death, and to be the author of the Epinomis (see Diogenes Lærtius' Lives, III, 37).
